Loretta Ryan has been working in the radio industry for 28 years.

Starting out as a fresh faced 18 year old back in 1983 at Brisbane station Radio Ten, Loretta began  her career in the advertising area, scheduling commercials and also developing skills in production.

After several years, she moved to the newsroom where she took up a cadetship, which led to a successful run as a reporter and newsreader.

After 7 years with Radio Ten, Loretta moved to Triple M where she continued in news and also co-hosted a successful sports and entertainment show.

Loretta stayed with Triple M for 16 years before moving to 4BH to co-host the Breakfast show for four years.

She has since moved into the news/talk arena, co-hosting the afternoon show on 4BC.

Loretta’s passion for the media has also seen her fulfil a long held dream to work in television.

Her most recent achievement was writing and presenting stories on Channel Nine’s former afternoon lifestyle program EXTRA. She also filled in for a week as guest host.

Loretta’s other television credits include hosting an entertainment program called FMV TV which was screened on Channel Seven in Brisbane and throughout regional Queensland by Austar.

She hosted a real estate program for Channel Seven, produced by  PLM advertising and a home improvement show which was broadcast on the Gold Coast.

Previously, Loretta also appeared as an extra on the locally produced television series Paradise Beach where she played a journalist.

Loretta’s radio profile means she regularly MCs events for the radio station. She is also sought after for corporate functions and does voice overs for commercials and telephone on-hold messages for businesses through McGirvan Media.
